Hello parents, students, and friends, My name’s Steve. I’m from the Shetland Islands, Scotland, in the UK. What can I teach? ESL: All ages; super early learners all the way to adults. ABC's or IELTS prep. GCSE: English, Business, Philosophy, & Media A-Level: English, Philosophy, and Media University-Level: English, Philosophy, Film, Screenwriting Exerpience with: KS1, 2, 3 / +11 / Scottish Schooling System / IELTS Languages Spoken: English Basic + Mandarin Experience with disabilities / special needs / ADHD and Dyslexia Preferred Age Range: Any! : ) About me: I teach English Literature and Philosophy at Primary and High School level, having worked in numerous schools within the UK. I also spent three years in China, Guangzhou, teaching ESL at an IB school. I taught primary grades 1-7 and even some middle and high school classes. I love movies and sports and cooking! Teaching Style I’m a very calm, relaxing, and fun teacher who likes to encourage students to talk as much as possible whilst keeping the classes enjoyable. After China, I returned to the UK and joined the Royal Marines, the hardest military training in NATO – so I know the benefits of learning by repetition. Keep practicing every day and you will improve. FUN FACT: The Royal Marines have a saying that goes like this; Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. This means – as a teacher I want to be prepared for all of my classes so that my students get the most out of their sessions. Thanks for your time and I look forward to meeting you!!!!
