About me
Lower Level: GCSE Biology GCSE English A Level English Ideal student age between year 7- year 13 (secondary/VI form) Qualifications: A Level English A* (GCSE 9) A Level Biology - B (GCSE 9) I am currently studying BA English Literature and Language and Oxford University - I am also happy to aid VI form students struggling with personal statement writing! It is my intention to create a relaxed, encouraging environment to remove the pressure of the classroom on students. I strive to make my lessons a safe place to explore ideas and methods to aid learning, as well as providing clarity on areas where students struggle. Within English, I specialise in making classic literature more accessible, helping students tackle essay writing, and furthering an understanding of gaging meaning hidden within the text to achieve the top marks. Biology requires not just a factual understanding, but significant exam technique - the latter of which is often neglected within school lessons and so is often my focus within tutoring. I also specialise in helping students find the right way to revise in order to learn the wide range of content required for this subject. About myself: I am an avid reader, my favourite author being J.R.R.Tolkien. My love of literature means a fascination with languages, and I find myself learning fragments of many - such as Welsh, Irish and Scottish Gaelic and Swedish! I also play the harp when I can find the time, and love painting portraits (Art being my fourth A Level).
